This works great. It is portable, versatile, heats a long time with two portable bottles for when carrying a large tank is not practical and really throws out some heat. If you searching for information on the Mr. Heater MH18B, Portable Propane Heater we can help you find product you want, and if you want to know the details and price of this product.
Mr. Heater MH18B 18,000 Btu Big Buddy Indoor Safe Portable heater

Big Buddy Indoor Safe Propane Portable Heater - Mr. Heater MH18B - 4,000 to 18,000 BTU/Hr Portable Heaters

Purchased it for a camping trip in the mountains with 31 degree temps at night. At times we got too hot. Possibly the best thing I have ever purchased on amazon. Get the Mr. Heater hose with regulator attached to go with it. Any and all complaints related to the use of a 20 lbs cylinder (leaky valves, clogged filters, shutting down, fumes, regulator freezing, and more) are from people who don't read instructions.
  • Swivel regulators and single control
  • Automatic low oxygen shutoff system
  • Accidental tip-over safety shutoff
  • Heats up to 400 square feet
  • Low, medium, and high heat level control knob for steady temperatures
  • Battery or A/C powered blower fan for versatility
  • Built-in Piezo starter for easy starts
From the high quality of the materials and manufacture, it's obvious that Mr. Heater continues to care about and improve this product. I'm anticipating using this heater not just for camping, but as a replacement for my old kerosene heater when working in the garage or the shed.

I use this Mr. Heater MH18B Portable Propane Heater to warm up my WilderNest Camper when I go camping in the winter. I have used it at elevations ranging from ~4,500-10,000 feet. I have spent many a winter's night camping anywhere from Crested Butte, CO, to Canyonlands NP, Utah, with temps ranging from the low 20s to -10 F. The -10 trip was this past February in Crested Butte.

On that trip, as with all others, within minutes of firing up the heater I was able to take off my hat and gloves; by the time my coffee water was boiling I had no need for my jacket, and by the time I drank my coffee I was too hot and stripped down to t-shirt and shorts... in February, in Crested Butte, at 9000ft.

This thing has high BTUs and that means it does drink its fair share. If you intend to use this Mr. Heater MH18B Portable heater for long periods of time you must use a 20 lb gas cylinder. If you are looking to heat up weekenders, or week long trips then you will be happy. I've now switched back to using two 1 lb gas cylinders.

This product is light and portable. It has a fan which is essential in circulating heat. It allows for using 1 or 2 one pound propane cylinders like you use for camping stoves and lanterns, or you can hook it up to larger propane tanks (20, 40 lb +) with optional hoses and filter for much longer run times. You can also purchase an optional electrical adapter for the fan, or just run it on batteries.

This Mr. Heater MH18B Portable Propane Heater product earned 281 customer reviews and 86% are satisfied (as 11/27/2013).

All in all I would highly recommend the Big Buddy Mr. Heater MH18B Portable Propane Heater it works great with throw aways although you throw away more than empty cylnders compared to a 20# cylnder. I last bought a 40# cylinder, if that gets me through a month that is reasonable enough to get through the winter.
